International Community of Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development
Sustainable Tomorrow, Sustainable Together
As part of our efforts to address the challenges posed by rapid global climate change, globalization, and urbanization, the International Conference 2025 on SPSD aims to bring together interdisciplinary fields to explore urban and regional issues in both research and practice.
There is a compelling scientific consensus that, since the dawn of the industrial era, human activity has increasingly contributed to climate change. As research and publications on the science of climate change have grown substantially in recent decades, greater attention has been paid to the role of spatial planning in developing both mitigation measures to reduce emissions, and adaptation measures to ameliorate the effects of climate change. It has strengthened the environmental dimension of spatial planning and has become a new rationale for coordinating actions and integrating diverse policy priorities.
Today, urban and rural areas worldwide face a lot of problems to solve. Especially there are still many regions in Asia that are vulnerable to natural hazards such as wind and flood damage, and struggle with problems such as poverty, insanitation, crime prevention, etc.
It is time to gather to share our thoughts and to think together about a sustainable future.
